Optimized for Large Scale, Rapid Deployment Time and Highest Performance, New MegaDC Line of Servers Supports Open Standards like OpenBMC and OCP V3.0 SFF Cards

San Jose, California March 10, 2020 Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMCI), a global leader in enterprise computing, storage and networking solutions and green computing technology, today announced the new MegaDC Series of servers-the industry's first commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems designed for large-scale deployments of very large data centers.

Supermicro's breakthrough MegaDC server is a dedicated commercial off-the-shelf platform designed for very large infrastructure deployments with extreme flexibility. By reducing component count and optimizing power distribution and backplane design, MegaDC servers can provide greater cost efficiency and reliability. In order to achieve greater flexibility, the new server will support open standards, including OpenBMC for customized control of functions and versions, AIOM cards (Advanced Input / Output Modules) supporting OCP V3.0 SFF, and common redundancy Power Supply (CRPS).

Supermicro President and CEO Charles Liang said, "As we continue to rapidly expand production capacity, Supermicro can now serve very large data centers. With this in mind, we specialize in the Internet Large-scale data center customers have designed the new MegaDC series of server products. MegaDC servers are optimized to reduce deployment time and provide the best performance power consumption ratio and optimal performance cost ratio. We understand that large data centers often face long periods of time. With upward demand and occasional downward challenges, Supermicro can alleviate concerns over fluctuations in demand by maintaining healthy inventory levels of new MegaDC servers. "

MegaDC today introduced five new X11 systems, two of which are 1U systems and three 2U systems, which can be used for cloud deployments with sufficient economies of scale. All MegaDC systems support two new second-generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, 16 memory slots, an advanced input / output module slot, dual 25G Ethernet ports, and OpenBMC. Additional features include bulk packaging designed to reduce unpacking time, optimized mechanical design to maximize airflow to the CPU, memory, and GPU, and a low-resistance 12V unified power distribution design to improve system availability and energy efficiency.
