AMD's 1U Super Server uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5 and Solarflare network stack to achieve STAC-N1 (TM) benchmark world record with an average latency of 2.3 microseconds

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), a global leader in enterprise computing, storage, networking solutions and green computing technologies, today announced a new deal with Red Hat and Solarflare The world record, STAC® (Securities Technical Analysis Center) serving the world's leading financial institutions, the STAC-N1 benchmark achieves the lowest latency.

STAC-N1 uses market data-based workloads to measure the performance of the host network stack. The benchmark is implemented on a pair of Microsystems SYS-1029UX-LL1-S16 servers, each with two 8-core Intel® Xeon® scalable 6144 (gold) processors, overclocked to 4.18GHz. These servers are also loaded with Red Hat's Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5 operating system and the Solarflare X2522 adapter. The bare metal system showed a minimum average delay of 2.3 microseconds compared to all previously published STAC-N1 results, both at the base rate (100k messages per second) and the highest rate (1 million mps).
