IT management is increasingly looking for high-performance, cost-effective and energy-efficient green IT product suppliers. Their main goal is to reduce operating costs in the data center, a large part of which is energy-related costs. As these energy costs continue to rise, users will have to spend more money to power and cool server hardware instead of buying them.
To maximize impact, we introduced a holistic architecture that optimizes data center power, cooling, shared resources, and refresh cycles. This innovative approach focuses on reusing system chassis, enabling modular updates of subsystems and using optimized extended lifecycle subsystems including networking, storage, cooling, fans and power. By decomposing the CPU and memory, each resource can be refreshed independently, allowing the data center to reduce the refresh cycle cost. Implementing this architecture in the data center has important positive implications:
-
Decomposed server architectureHardware refresh cost savings of 45%-60%
-
Free air coolingPUE improved by up to 30%
-
Pool resourcesDynamic allocation and configuration of critical data center resources • HVAC cost savings up to 60%
